AxonPBX / Getting started

Create an extension and connect a phone

Extensions belong to tenants. Select the correct tenant before making changes.

Applies to 0.7.2 development preview · Reviewed October 31, 2026

01Choose the tenant

Select an authorized tenant in the sidebar. Extension numbers can repeat across tenants; the SIP username uses the tenant ID followed by a hyphen and the extension number.

02Create the extension

Create a new extension to receive fresh SIP credentials and a voicemail PIN. Store them securely when shown. Extension lists do not reveal stored secrets. To replace a secret, assign an explicit new value through Edit.

03Connect a phone

Configure the phone with the extension credentials and the deployment's SIP address. Experimental token-protected HTTPS provisioning is documented for Yealink T48S, T43U and T42S. Treat a provisioning URL as a credential. Physical-device, NAT and BLF validation remain outstanding.

04Apply and verify

A platform administrator must apply telephony changes. Check the saved and applied revisions, registration/contact status and an authorized internal test call. Dial *97 for extension voicemail. The lab diagnostic number 700 provides a greeting and RTP echo test on the documented preview.
